Luke’s Founding Story

I’ve always been entrepreneurial. My natural instinct is to fix broken things—no matter the industry.

As a student, I earned good grades and regularly made the honor roll. But deep down, I knew I was playing the “education game”—memorize, complete the assignments, score well on the tests. While I could succeed at that game, I often struggled to see how most of the tasks and projects I was asked to do connected to real life. I wanted my learning to be relevant, engaging, and applicable.

It wasn’t until I started my first company that I realized the skills that mattered most—the ones that helped me succeed—came from experiences outside of school: sports, internships, mentorship opportunities, and real-world jobs. Along the way, I met people who took the time to guide me, teaching me not only practical skills but also communication, respect, and how to work well with others—things every young person should learn before they step into adulthood. These experiences built my grit, perseverance, and critical thinking while showing me how to create solutions that brought real value to others.

Years later, Rebecca and I became parents, and we watched our kids enter the same model. My oldest son was in first grade when I had a sobering realization: the time I had to influence his life was about to shrink by 90% because of him going into full-time, full-day school. Yet the education system hadn’t meaningfully changed in decades. That was the moment I knew something had to be done.

Once we moved to Liberty Lake, we decided it was time to build the kind of school I wished I’d had—a school designed for real life, a school designed to prepare kids for the 21st century and the skills they need to thrive in the world we now know. This means developing critical thinking, grit, perseverance, and the ability to work with technology to provide solutions and create value for society.

Liberty Launch Academy would be a place where kids learn through real-world experiences, where failure isn’t feared but used as fuel, and where students discover interests that can lead to meaningful careers—or even inspire them to start their own businesses.

A core part of our mission is using sports to teach life skills—resilience, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork—because athletics uniquely prepare students for challenges both on and off the field.

We believe every child is more than a number, and every parent deserves a true partner in raising their kids. So our vision expanded into the MØDE Campus—a place where families can work, learn, train, create, and connect in the same space, spending more meaningful time together while pursuing health, wellness, and creativity.

At the end of the day, we are parents—just like you—who want our kids to grow into principled leaders with purpose, meaning, and the skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Liberty Launch Academy isn’t just a school—it’s a movement to rebuild education and community from the ground up.

Onward and upward,
Luke & Rebecca
